General Chairs

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 5th edition of AI-ML Systems Conference to be held from October 7-11th, 2025. After having gone abroad last year in a successful edition in Lousiana, AI-ML systems this year comes back to its original home, in Bengaluru, where the first 3 editions were hosted. The AI-ML Systems Conference comes back home stronger and more participated than ever, having attracted a record number of submissions in all the venues of its program.

We have arranged an exciting five-day program for you at The Chancery Pavilion, Bengaluru. The program opens with Quantum Symposium on October 07th, followed by a full day of workshops on October 08th, while the main conference spans three days from October 09th through 11th.

The main conference includes keynotes by four highly distinguished researchers: Vineeth N Balasubramanian from Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, on the 9th; Rahul Mangharam of the University of Pennsylvania and Ramesh Raskar, MIT Media Lab on the 10th; and Mausam from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi on the 11th. We have also arranged a banquet talk by Harrick Vin, CTO at Tata Consultancy Services on the evening of the 10th.

The main conference program is organized by Technical Program Committee (TPC) co-chairs, Neeldhara Misra, Rekha Singhal and Stefano Melacci. They have carefully selected 22 oral papers, 29 poster papers, and 5 invited speakers for the research track. Furthermore, there is an Industrial Track, focused on research related to deploying learning systems in the real world, organized by the co-chairs Anupam Purwar and Vijay K Gurbani. They have selected 16 oral papers, 8 poster papers and 2 invited talks. The conference program also includes three panel discussions organized by Parag Agrawal and Rajesh Sharma, and 11 demos in the demos-and-exhibit sessions organized by Gaurav Kumar and Subba Reddy. The main conference is preceded by two workshops: Agentic AI and Edge-X, organized by the workshop co-chairs Palanivel Kodeswaran, Shruti Kunde, Arijit Mukherjee and Udayan Ganguly, and concluded by a workshop on AI in Space, organized by Prasant Misra, Shailesh Deshpande and Supratik Mukhopadhyay.

Running such a large conference with modest registration fees requires significant external financial support. Our sponsorship chairs, Giridhar Mandyam and Rajeev Shorey have managed to raise a record sponsorship amount for the conference thanks to generous support from our corporate patrons: silver patrons Amazon, Google, Microsoft, TCS research, Walmart, and bronze patrons Sprinklr, MINRO, ada and IBM. We are pleased to introduce the fifth edition of the International Conference on AI-ML Systems. After a successful 4 th edition hosted by Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA in October 2024, the conference returns to Bangalore. The conference organizing committee was once again able to put together a strong technical program derived from a pool of outstanding submissions from industrial and academic researchers. The conference also includes four Keynote talks and Banquet talk from experts in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence. As with the previous conference edition, this year’s conference has three panel sessions, tutorials, and an Industry Track. In addition, workshops on agentic AI, AI in space applications, and AI in edge computing round out the technical program.

Panel Co-Chairs

As AI systems continue to advance at an unprecedented pace, the conversations surrounding their impact, governance, and ethics have never been more crucial. The panel discussions at AI-ML Systems 2025 are designed to spark thoughtful dialogue across academia, industry, and policy, bringing together some of the most distinguished voices shaping the future of AI. This year’s edition features three deeply engaging panels, each addressing a vital dimension of our evolving relationship with intelligent systems.

The first panel, “Who Really Controls AI—Governments, Big Tech, or the Machines?”, moderated by Rajesh Sharma, delves into the power dynamics shaping AI today. With leading thinkers such as Supratik Mukhopadhyay, Manish Gupta, Anand Singh, Vineeth N. Balasubramanian, Prabhat Agrawal, and Shekar Sivasubramanian, the discussion examines whether the reins of AI should lie with public institutions, corporate giants, or—perhaps inevitably—the technology itself.

The second panel, “Can We Trust ‘Responsible AI’? The Truth Behind the Buzzwords,” moderated by Parag Agrawal, takes a candid look at the promises and pitfalls of Responsible AI. Featuring eminent researchers and practitioners including Venkat Padmanabhan, Rahul Mangharam, Samarth Chandra, Rajan A., and Pradyumna Chari, this discussion confronts the uncomfortable questions around fairness, transparency, and accountability—beyond the rhetoric and into real-world practice.

The final panel, “AI as Workforce: Tool, Teammate, or Threat?”, moderated by Mellissa Ferrier, brings together a diverse lineup—Rajeev Rastogi, Mausam, Santanu Bhattacharya, Davide Bacciu, and Loveleen Kolvekar—to explore how AI is redefining work itself. From automation to augmentation, the discussion will probe whether AI is empowering human potential or fundamentally reshaping our professional identities.

Together, these panels represent not just a forum for debate, but a meeting ground for ideas that bridge technology, ethics, and society. Our goal is to encourage open, nuanced, and sometimes provocative discussions that help chart a balanced course for AI’s future. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the panelists, moderators, and participants for contributing their time, insight, and passion to these critical conversations. We hope these dialogues inspire reflection, collaboration, and action across disciplines and industries.

Welcome to AI-ML Systems 2025, now in its remarkable 5th edition! This conference serves as a dynamic platform for both practitioners and academicians to delve into the remarkable convergence of AI/ML techniques and cutting-edge computational systems. We explore how these advancements enable data-driven explorations in computational system design and their far-reaching implications on socio-techno-economic systems. This year, we are excited to host the conference from October 8th to 11th, 2025, in Bangalore, India.

 

Our technical program comprises 21 exceptional research track papers and 28 Posters, meticulously chosen from a pool of 97 submissions. In the industry track, we have selected a total of 24 papers, with 16 oral presentations and 8 posters, from an impressive 52 submissions. The conference further boasts two engaging workshops and an interactive demo track.

 

We have three workshops – Agentic AI, Edge-X and AI in Space. All the workshops are enriched with keynote speakers and panel discussions. In the demo track, we are thrilled to showcase the latest AI innovations.

 

The conference is enriched by 4 keynote addresses by eminent global AI experts and 6 distinguished invited talks by leading figures from both industry and academia. Additionally, we have curated three  thought-provoking panel discussions covering a spectrum of vital topics on Adoption of AI. Quantum Symposium Co-Chairs

Symposium celebrating the quantum century (SCQC)

With 2025 being declared as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) celebrating the 100 years since the initial development of quantum mechanics, and after a highly successful launch of QCom(P), the first international workshop on Quantum Communication and Computing at COMSNETS 2024, and the second international Workshop on Quantum Technologies (WQT) at COMSNETS 2025, we are now ready to make it even bigger, better, and broader by celebrating this momentous year of quantum physics, i.e., IYQ 2025 with an international 2-day symposium under the COMSNETS Association. Hence, going forward, we have expanded the scope and now present the Symposium Celebrating the Quantum Century (SCQC), which will be co-located with AI-ML Systems’ 25 conference and will encompass all four major drivers of quantum technology as of today: sensing, communications, computing, and materials. Given the developments happening in India through its National Quantum Mission (NQM), this symposium aims to also present the vibrant atmosphere of the Indian Quantum Ecosystem to its audience including the recent launch of NQM supported Hubs and Startups.

The goal of this symposium is to bring together quantum researchers, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, developers, students, practitioners, educators, and programmers working in this field. In this context, the symposium also intends to include the topic of understanding what it takes to bring more of the technology from an academic setting to real-world applications based on the industry requirements and technology development roadmap. Beyond these technical focuses, which may be primarily limited only to experts working in this field, it aspires to evangelize the evolution and impact of quantum technologies over these 100 years, to even uninitiated researchers, students, faculties, and industry professionals.

Over a two-day event, SCQC will feature keynotes from 9 stellar speakers: Prof. Nadia Belabas, Dr. Tobias Haug, Prof. Antoine (Jack) Jacquier, Prof. Fedor Jelezko, Prof. Anand Kumar Jha, Prof. Bhaskar Kanseri, Prof. Marcin Pawłowski, Prof. Rajamani Vijayaraghavan, Sai Vinjanampathy, and 5 contributory talks, 14 poster presentations, and an industry panel discussion session consisting of experienced panelists from IBM Research, TCS Research, QNu Labs and with a moderator from QETCI. Uniquely, SCQC will present two public lectures from Prof. Fedor Jelezko and Prof. Sai Vinjanampathy to its audience, as a special event, aimed at evangelizing the fundamental and potential technological impacts of this field. The accepted submissions can be found listed on our webpage, and those under accepted in the proceedings track will be archived in IEEE Xplore. We would like to thank our Technical Program Committee members whose efforts have enabled a technically detailed and highly competitive review process. Finally, these unique achievements of the SCQC have been possible primarily because of tremendous support from QETCI in form of conference partners.

On behalf of the organizing and steering committee, we cordially welcome you to the SCQC. It offers a very strong and a vibrant technical program that has attracted registrations from students, faculty members and industry professionals from India and abroad. We believe that collaboration between industry, academia, the public sector and not-for-profit organizations is imperative to facilitate not only a national but also a global impact of the second quantum revolution. With the intent of achieving this goal, the SCQC aims to bring all these players together, aligning with India’s journey to create a global impact in quantum technologies.

Edge-X Workshop Co-Chairs

The landscape of Artificial Intelligence is rapidly evolving, and this transformation has a critical impact on computing systems at the edge. As AI systems become increasingly embedded in everyday devices—from industrial sensors to autonomous vehicles—the need for intelligent, efficient, and responsive edge computing has never been greater. Processing data closer to its source not only enables real-time decision-making and reduces latency, but also enhances privacy and security for sensitive applications.

This year, EDGE-X 2025 places a special emphasis on the intersection of edge computing and neuromorphic technologies. By drawing inspiration from the human brain, neuromorphic systems promise to unlock new levels of adaptability and energy efficiency, paving the way for sustainable AI deployments at the edge. Our workshop is designed to foster dialogue and collaboration between researchers, industry practitioners, and technology enthusiasts, all united by the goal of advancing low-power, high-performance intelligence for real-world applications.

The programme features a dynamic mix of keynote talks, technical paper presentations, hands-on tutorials, and a thought-provoking panel discussion. Highlights include sessions on explainable AI at the edge, industrial and automotive use cases, and neuro-inspired approaches to embedded intelligence. The hands-on TinyML tutorial offers practical insights into deploying AI models on resource-constrained platforms, while our panel will tackle the pressing questions around the future and sustainability of edge AI.

We are proud to have assembled a diverse technical programme, thanks to the contributions of our speakers, panellists, and authors. This year, after a rigorous review process, four outstanding papers were selected for inclusion in the AIMLSys proceedings, reflecting the workshop’s commitment to quality and innovation. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who made this possible, and to the AIMLSys Steering Committee for their support.

We received a total of 15 demo submissions, of which 9 were accepted and 1 was subsequently withdrawn. With more than 9000 active spacecraft orbiting earth, some capturing images of earth providing vital earth observations – required spatial and temporal resolution, some providing critical communications and navigation infrastructure, space-tech plays a critical role in today’s information age. In this workshop space applications meet an equally fascinating modern technology: AI.
You will experience exciting talks by eminent space scientists and researchers who are actively providing efficient computing in space and intelligent analysis for environmental insights using the power of AI.  The invited talks would follow with a panel discussion, “AI or Not to AI, That Is a Question”.  The discussion would pivot around the unique proposition that remote sensing and space-tech provide, as well as the key role of AI in sensing, onboard computation, and data analytics
